July 6 – Macaron Class

It was another hot day so we stayed around the apartment for a while.  We had breakfast in the apartment and lunch at an organic restaurant nearby.

Then we took the train over to see the Pere Lachaise cemetery.  This is an largest cemetery in Paris.  It is a big tourist draw as it is the final resting place of many famous people such as writers Oscar Wilde, Molière, and Honoré Balzac, composers Frederick Chopin and George Bizet, and American singer/song writer Jim Morrison (just to name a few).  We only just peaked in and didn’t really do any looking or exploring.

and then went to our Macaron cooking class.

We made raspberry, chocolate, lemon and caramel macarons (and some combo raspberry/lemon)…absolutely awesome and we have enough for days of snacking.

Then it was back to the hotel for packing and dinner.  Tomorrow we head to Venice.
